Sustainability Improvement of Informal Brick Making

This project for Swiss Contact evaluated processes on informal brick sites in the Eastern Cape in order to improve the sustainability performance. The Sustainable Building Material Index (SBMI), developed by Gauge, was used for the study. Recommendations from the study are being used to inform a brick maker development programme.
